AT 5-1, SWANS ENJOY LIFE ABOVE LADDER FRAY

2018 MLF LADDER NEWSFresh off a weekend sweep of the Lakeland Tigers, the St. Petersburg Swans – now 5-1 and on top of the 2018 Major League Footy Premiership Season ladder – will spend the next two weeks observing as other MLF sides jockey for ladder position.

With the Tampa Bay Bombers (1-0) facing off Saturday in a matinee double-header rematch with currently cellar-dwelling Clearwater (0-2), the Red and White would be well-served by a Kangas’ sweep.

On the other hand, a Bombers’ sweep would see Tampa Bay rocket into a solid 2nd spot on the ladder.

In their previous match, it was all Tampa Bay in the debut of the Bomber side into the competition, with a 53-point final margin never in doubt.

The St. Petersburg Swans will return to the competition Saturday, June 23 with a visit to South Florida to take on the hosting the Miami Saints (2-1).

The St. Petersburg Swans train every Wednesday and Thursday at 6 PM at Rollbotto Oval at Crescent Lake Common in St. Petersburg.

Scrimmages and MLF matches follow full training sessions, 10 AM Saturdays – also at Rollbotto Oval at Crescent Lake Common.

All trainings, practices and competitions are always free, and are open to co-ed players of all ages and skill level.
