SWANS SET TO DEFEND WINTER FLAG

SWANS SET TO DEFEND WINTER FLAG

KYLE ROUN and the St. Petersburg Swans look to repeat as Major League Footy Premiers as the 2017-18 Winter Season kicks off Saturday.

The St. Petersburg Swans will be looking to get their defense of the Major League Footy Florida Winter League Premiership Saturday, as the Bloods host Orlando Saturday.

Ball up is 11 AM on the Common at Crescent Lake in St. Pete.

Having stormed back from a slow start to take the 2016-17 flag by routing a previously-undefeated Suncoast Suns side, the Swans are hoping for an easier path to the top of the ladder this season.

With a 45-point win in their November 4 pre-season debut against the expansion Lakeland Tigers, St. Pete saw flashes of offensive dominance that characterized the club’s 2016 USAFL season.

Matched up against an Orlando side that failed to see victory in last season’s winter campaign, Senior Coach Greg Bray and Assistant Coach Matt Elliott look to put their stamp on a winter of improvement in all facets of the game, beginning with this week’s Season-opening tilt.

The match is presented by Rollbotto, and will air live worldwide on RadioStPete – now entering its third season as the official broadcast partner of the St. Petersburg Swans.

Fans can listen live for free at radiostpete.com, or download the RadioStPete app for iOS and Android.

Rich Libero returns with the play-by-play, with Miro Gladovic on color commentary. Game time weather in St. Petersburg is expected to be sunny, with a ball-up temperature of 77 degrees.
