SWANS FOOTY HEATS UP AS SUMMER ARRIVES
Following a well-earned break for the Memorial Day holiday, the St. Petersburg Swans fly back into action Saturday, June 2 in a special matinee double-header on the Common at Crescent Lake in St. Pete.
The St. Petersburg side (3-1, 12 points) host the Lakeland Tigers (0-1) in the first official action of the Florida summer, and stand poised to pick up eight points, should they sweep the days’ proceedings.
Meanwhile, a Tigers’ sweep would carry them into the top four, just as the summer action begins to sizzle.
With a June 23 tussle in South Florida awaiting the Red and White, every point earned in the early goings of the month stands to loom large from here on out, as Coach Greg Bray hones his charges for a sultry summer of football.
St. Petersburg will also add Thursday night trainings to its normal schedule, bringing sessions to three-a-week for the duration of the summer.
