ST. PETE HOPES WINTER RUN LEADS TO FLAG
With a 9-1 record (36 points, 169.3%), the St. Petersburg Swans have been statistically dominant in the 2018-19 Major League Footy Winter Premiership Season.
Now, coaches Greg Bray and Matt Elliott know the real test awaits, as the side sits idle in MLF play as the remaining sides battle for a spot in next month’s Finals.
An average outcome of 52-31 – with only one setback on the season – will mean little if the Swans fall short in the Championship Final, as they did in defeat at the hands of Starfish FC to end the Summer season.
A strong presence is expected as the club kicks off weeknight practice sessions this week, with most of the side’s core group participating in more intense kicking and handball drills.
Any edge the Bloods can glean over the next few weeks could come very much in handy, or a stellar regular season run over Winter 2018-19 will be relegated to but a footnote.
