The St. Petersburg Swans are looking for a serving of home cooking this Saturday’s 2018 Major League Footy Summer Championship Final, when the Bloods take on StarfishFC in an 11 AM tilt at the ‘C’.

With roughly half the side’s home matches since 2015 being played at Crescent Lake, the Swans have racked up an impressive 19-5 mark at the historic ground.

Since the Swans moved weekly training sessions from downtown St. Pete’s Campbell Park (the club continues to hold some night matches at the iconic gridiron), the importance of Crescent Lake has increased – leading to a naming rights partnership that sees the club refer to the ground as Rollbotto Oval at Crescent Lake Common when in use for Aussie Rules.

With 2018 night matches held at the Largo Sports Complex, Crescent Lake Common hosted most Swans matinee matches.

During the 2018 Major League Footy Summer Premiership Season, the Swans took the field as the home side on six occasions, coming away with a 5-1 mark that has the side confident in their ability to navigate the ground’s well-known quirks.

Of concern, however, is the fact that the Red & White’s only loss at Crescent Lake in 2018 came at the hands of this week’s Finals challenger.

Starfish FC clobbered the Swans 142-78 on May 12 – the only blemish on St. Pete’s record at Crescent Lake this season.
