RACE TO WINTER FLAG TIGHTENS AS FOOTY RETURNS

With three new recruits making their Florida footy debuts following the Holiday Break, the St. Petersburg Starfish overcame a tight first half contest to run out 66-18 winners over the hosting Suncoast Suns Saturday in St. Pete.

The result puts Starfish FC level in the won-loss column with the Swans, who remain atop the 2017-18 Winter Premiership Season table on percentages.

With blustery game conditions after an extended joint training, a low-scoring affair seemed in the cards, as the two sides traded blows throughout the first 15 minutes, with the ‘Fish up 24-18 at the break.

The second half would tell another story, as the Suns became the first side in MLF competition to be shut-out over the course the second half, with St. Pete notching seven majors to cruise to the finish line.

Major League Footy action continues January 20, as the Swans (2-0) host the Lakeland Tigers (0-1)
