The St. Petersburg Swans will look to cap the 2018-19 MLF Winter Premiership Season with a positive result, when they meet the Orlando Kangas, Saturday night at Largo Sports Complex in Largo, Florida.
Ball-up for Game One in the #footynightinflorida twin-bill is 7 PM.
Entering at 7-1 (28 points), and comfortably in the mix for one of three Major League Footy playoff berths, St. Petersburg can lock up the #1 seed – and minor premiership – with a sweep of Saturday’s proceedings.
The Kangas, coming off a February 23 sweep at the hands of the Lakeland Tigers, are currently seventh on the ladder, but can move up in a hurry should they take both matches Saturday night.
With two losses last week by a total of six points, the Kangas come into to the meeting with St. Petersburg at 1-3 (4 points), but with a narrowly positive point differential of +5.
The Kangas and Tigers combined for a record 302 total points scored in last weekend’s double-header, and the ‘Roos have six games remaining in which to climb back to relevance.
That climb will begin under the lights Saturday, while the Swans will seek to defend their Aussie Fives home before the playoffs kick off next month.
