Having already sewn up the 2018-19 Major League Footy minor premiership, the St. Petersburg Swans now must watch and wait, as the rest of the ladder shakes out before April’s Finals begin.

With the fifth-seeded Suncoast Suns (3-5) needing a positive result to stay alive in the run home, this weekend’s #footynightinflorida match-up with Starfish FC (3-3) could go a long way in setting the pecking order as the regular season schedule draws to a close.

The ‘Fish – currently sitting in the #4 spot with four games remaining, could do some damage of their own, with the possibility of jumping into second place this Saturday.

Having won three on the trot, Starfish FC could potentially repeat last Summer’s history – rising off the mat to take the MLF Summer Premiership over the Swans last September.

Meanwhile, the Florida Lions (5-5) currently sit at No. 2, having split the March 9 round robin with Orlando and the Bloods. With their regular season over, the Leos can only watch and wait in hopes of hanging in the top three.

Likewise, the Lakeland Tigers (5-3) will need breaks to go their way, but can do themselves a huge favor in sweeping Starfish FC when they meet March 30.

For the Red and White, the next few weeks of footy might be the most stress-free of the season…but when the calendar flips to April, the pressure will return with a vengeance.
