AUTUMN PRESSURE SQUARELY ON SWANS
September footy in Florida promises to be a high-stakes sojourn into Autumn, as the St. Petersburg Swans suddenly find themselves in a three-way battle for a Finals berth.
After a sparkling 5-1 start to the 2018 Major League Footy Premiership Season, St. Petersburg has dropped their last two outings, while both the Tampa Bay Bombers (6-2) and Florida Lions (4-2) have come on strong in the late days of summer.
Tampa Bay’s Week 20 double-header sweep over the Clearwater Kangas put Tampa Bay in first place on the ladder for the first time this season, and has positioned the Bombers for a sparkling September.
While that result has pushed the Swans out of the top-spot they’ve occupied since the start of the 2018 campaign, St. Petersburg can control its own destiny.
Wins over Lakeland and Miami in the season’s closing weeks will propel the Bloods into a sure spot in the MLF Finals.
