The St. Petersburg Swans used a second quarter offensive outburst to overturn an early deficit, running out 80-63 winners over the Lakeland Tigers in Major League Footy Week Three action at the Largo Sports Complex in Largo, Florida Saturday night.
Finding themselves trailing by two after the first break, St. Petersburg rose to the Lakeland challenge, putting up a 30-0 second quarter result.
While the Tigers would right themselves in the second half, and at one point closed the gap to just 9 points, St. Petersburg was able to notch a late run against the clock, extending the final tally to 188.8.131.52 – 184.108.40.206.
The win runs the Swans’ record to 3-0, as they stand at the top of the Major League Footy 2018 Premiership Season ladder.
Week Four of the 2018 MLF Season sees Clearwater (0-1) travel south to take on the Miami Saints (1-1) in a 1 PM ball up, Saturday, May 5.
